From origin a Portuguese company, in 2010 we moved to Indonesia, Yogyakarta with the production of hand-made cement tiles. Solo-Design cement tiles are completely produced by hand and therefore it is a unique and authentic product. We are working with a big variety of colors and patterns that enables us to create innovating designs. With our own production we can control the whole process with the result of the best quality and a good quality/price ratio. Our aim is to cooperate as much and as soon as possible with the architects, designers and clients and develop with them the floor plan. We have our catalogue with patterns and colors, but the client can also design his own (s-)tile. The possibilities are nearly infinite. We offer to visit the location of the project in Indonesia several times; during the start-up including helping in the design, during the installation and at the end of the project. We can also provide for the installation of the floor itself and the products for installation and maintenance. Our relationship with the client is very important for us and we want to make sure that he is satisfied with the result by choosing this beautiful product.
Solo-Design Tiles; characteristics and sustainability!
Cement-tiles are a hand-made product, so every piece is an authentic product. We use the best coloring for our product, Holland Colors to be sure that the color stays stable for many years to come. We also produce a color layer of minimum 2 mm. thick to ensure a long life. As sand we use the Merapi sand that gives the tiles an unrivalled strength. Our cement tiles can last for 100 years if well installed and maintained. And by ageing the tiles get even more beauty by deepening patina. That makes it a very sustainable and green product. Compared with other tiles like marble or ceramic tiles, the production of cement- tiles requires far less energy; the process of production is only pressing and drying. Furthermore, the tiles get still more beautiful when they get older, different from ceramic tiles that often need replacement with all negative effects on the environment. Last but not least, the cement-tile floor gives the space a natural coolness because of its slightly porous characteristic.
